i've always found the nonsense kind of modern art distasteful, but I think it has utility as context, as contrast, as a background. if you expose an audience to abundant nonsense, they will be more likely to accept other novelties. like, if you have a restaurant with robotic staff, decorating it with duct-taped bananas and cowboys riding crocodiles would make the robots easier to accept.
Isn’t this the progressive/lefty/collectivist/Marxist/socialist/communist/murderer‘s modus operandi? The more that they can confuse us the more non-common sense tricks they can pull on us. Nonsense=nonsense no matter how they try to cut it.
