It feels impossible to vote for real moderates any more in this tribalistic two-party social media fueled society. We either get 100% open borders with no checks at all or we get gestapo tactics and an abandonment of presumption of innocence.

I was going through the mentioned propublica report this weekend and this looks rather awful. But then, all this coverage is a great deterrent to any foreigner ever considering setting foot on US soil in the future. To my best memory, that was hinted at as the desired outcome anyway, so all is as it should be.
