For a guy who actually built the biggest digital currency in the world, it’s humorous that most people almost think of Satoshi as fictional.
Like Jesus or some character out of a movie, we’ve made an idol out of him, forgetting that this person(s) existed and most likely are alive TODAY. Yikes, he’s probably reading this along with you.
Unless you imagine he’s like every classic hero — he saw it fit to un-alive himself after accomplishing his life’s mission.
As a skeptic, I hate to think of his disappearance as just a big aura-farming move to enhance his myth and brand. Even though you’ve got to give Satoshi credit for his God-tier OPSEC to disappear successfully.
So will he come back? The answer is yes. And if you ask why...
Well, for every reason every hero needs to return: to establish the supremacy of Bitcoin, to save us from our fiat-hungry selves, to re-align Bitcoin’s ethos.
His prior existence was subtle, but this time it would be necessary.
So when suddenly his long-dormant wallets begin to move, governments will convene and exchanges will freeze, and theories will spiral.
Some will call it betrayal, others a second Genesis. But Satoshi’s return won’t be to kill Bitcoin — but to free it from its own gravity.
And just like before, he will vanish, again.
Only this time, his silence will be intentional, not abandonment.
