🌊 #010 Feel the Breez

School’s out for the summer but, like bitcoin, the building never stops. Last month, builders used the Breez SDK to create everything from onboarding side quests to meme wallets for Gen Z attention spans, to bringing bitcoin to restaurants in Bulgaria, and much more. Here’s what’s new in the world of Breez:

Bitcoin for Gen Z & Alpha Fr Fr ✨

The Breez SDK is one of the easiest ways for any developer to add bitcoin to any app or service. And this was highlighted last month by the Skibidi.cash bounty experiment.
Set up by Pavlenex, this meme-fueled challenge brought together developers to ‘reimagine what bitcoin looks and feels like’ for Gen Z and Alpha — even spawning a global community of builders pushing boundaries in the process.
We loved seeing the SDK in action, as builders experimented and brought their playful ideas to life with both the winning app and third place powered by Breez. The winner, Skibidi Satoshi Wallet, even turned onboarding into a game, where users go on a quest to conquer the seed phrase — all wrapped in full skibidi chaos.
Breez SDK. Built diff, no cap.

Shooting the Breez 🎙️

We’ve been sitting down with the leaders building the future of bitcoin-powered apps in our new video series, Shoot the Breez. This month we sat down with Francisco Chavarria, the CEO of Yopaki, and Atanas Tonchev, the CTO of ordermoon.
First up was Francisco. His team is building the Mexican-born bitcoin neobank, Yopaki. They saw how the noise of speculation and hype was drowning bitcoin’s potential in their homeland. So they flipped the story — putting culture up front and bitcoin at the core — blending games, onboarding and payments into a single experience. Now, in just minutes, anyone can become a bitcoiner in Mexico and beyond. Vamos.
Next up, we spoke with Atanas. His Bulgaria-based team is bringing bitcoin to restaurants across Sofia, one plate at a time. In this episode, Atanas explained how they’ve worked with local businesses and global initiatives like Bitcoin Beach and Geyser to accelerate adoption — with the result leading to 21 restaurants already moving to the bitcoin standard. Хайдеее.

Misty Breez Gets More Love 🫶

Misty Breez is our reference app built to showcase what the Breez SDK can really do and users are loving it. It was the first wallet to offer fully customizable Lightning addresses with support for both BIP353 and LNURL and if you haven’t tried it yet… what are you waiting for? It’s exceptionally excellent, after all.
You’re sold but want to see it in action? We got you covered. BTC Sessions dropped a full walkthrough for folks, and if you’re a German-speaking bitcoiner, Jens Leinert now has you covered too.
Ist sehr gut.

Lightning in the Wild 🍊

FRESH OFF THE PRESS!
July saw a wave of Breez SDK-powered apps share exciting updates — from launches to beta tests and everything in between: Klever rolled out Lightning support on Android, BitPost entered beta, and with the Class of Q2 released, there’s plenty more in the pipeline.
So, what else have we spotted this month? Well, while roaming the global bitcoin savannah, we caught this from our friends at DidX. They were seen testing their newly Breez-powered app paying for oranges at their local Pick n Pay.
Sweet, right?

Plan ₿ Is the Best Option 🇨🇭

Look folks, we are obsessed with talking about bitcoin. And this month was no different.
Roy headed over to Lugano for Plan ₿’s Summer School, where he hosted a session on “The Utility of Bitcoin”, explaining why value must move like information, why bitcoin is much more than just fiat-thinking “payments”, and what we’re doing to build this new reality at Breez.

Until then, remember: the best time to get into Lightning is now — it always has been.
See y’all next time ✌️
