Dalton Del Don is a closet Bitcoiner. He and Andy Behrens used to be on the Yahoo Fantasy Football podcast, but have since gone independent and started The Deep Shot. Let’s show them why they should post their content on Stacker News now that they own their own stuff!!
Every Caleb Williams training camp misfire is a civic crisis. His touchdown passes are cold comfort. The city is ready for pain.
On Tuesday, the Chicago Bears reportedly held their most violent practice in decades, edging close to whatever the sensible limit might be for camp physicality. Players loved it.
It was a session focused on short-yardage and goal-line savagery, but Williams still managed to cook:

All things considered, a positive day. Meaningful progress. Ben Johnson is a different vibe, clearly what this team needed.
Also on Tuesday: Several of my dumbest friends sent me the same viral clip of Williams missing a net in a throwing drill. A net.
He did not have rapport with a [expletive] net.
You know who’s definitely not making Chicago’s 53-man this season? That net. Zero chance. No nets will make this team’s roster. I’m calling it right now.
If you are spending your days trapped inside the Bears doom bubble on X — or listening to the panicked, broken men who feed the Chicago sports radio rage machine — then you are missing a pretty interesting developmental story. Most of the actual onsite reporting from Bears camp has not been as grim as your information channels would suggest.
Williams has of course not been flawless, but the missteps have been amplified in a way that his successes are not. His camp has actually not been pure disaster. He’s also 23 years old, entering his second NFL season and working under his fourth offensive coordinator. Let’s give him a minute.
Johnson has introduced accountability and attention-to-detail at a level not seen within the organization in a generation. If that doesn’t excite Bears fans, then it’s possible they are not wired for winning — which, given the recent past, is understandable. Johnson is unusually candid for an NFL head coach, less inclined than most to spit the typical training camp sunshine. It’s somehow both refreshing and unsettling.
Overall, a good thing.
Fantasy wise, the official recommendation is that you should not yet downgrade Williams over this net situation, or any other camp glitch that hits your feed. Also, please note that he and that [expletive] net got in some additional reps and are now in sync.
We can reconvene after Sunday’s preseason game with Miami for some proper overreaction.
