I stuff a thin Chinese reader into my pocket every time I pick my son up from school. That way, I will get him to read it more likely than not. He still replies to me in English when I talk to him, but due to this habit, at least he can read Chinese characters if his life depends on it.
How about you?

I really like this way of thinking. Strangely though I find that I don't actually have too many conscious nudges set up in my life. Makes me think I could be a bit better about this. Especially regarding my kids and education. I like your Chinese reader example.

Why do you gravitate towards wanting your kids to pick up Chemistry? I mean, amidst all the branches of Science

Nice move! I guess you're one step closer to making him a bilingual superhero. Just don't be surprised if he starts writing secret messages in Chinese one day!

As long as he doesn’t start writing love letters as an elementary school student!
