ESPN confuses the hell out of me as the make the NFL move but then let UFC leave??? I get that $1.1 billion a year is a lot but UFC has a ton of popularity and has been a great offering for ESPN.

All in on the NFL need to save money elsewhere. Besides maybe a bit of politics involved. Dana White is a big Trump guy and I am sure that irks some folks at Disney.
Yeah I guess that does track even though in my opinion its not great business logic. With the NFL though wasnt a huge part of it that the NFL was getting a 10% stake so I am not sure how much money they also spent.
Yeah I just read about this. I think CBS is making a huge pivot to conservatives. They canceled the Stephen Colbert show whose been Critical of Trump. They settled the lawsuit with Trump and now they give Dana White a big fat bag of fiat credit based money.
I might start watching the UFC again if they can stop with the pay per view model which they might do with this deal
If its like how it is with ESPN a bunch of fights are streamed for free and then the cards that have like 3 title belts up for grabs ESPN+ users got a discounted rate to purchasing the Main card... The prelims were free.
What has blown my mind about Stephen Colbert's show is that it was losing between $30 and $40 million a year! He was getting paid a stupid amount and his show was losing money. It doesnt take a rocket scientists to go ya know this isnt a sustainable model. If he actually cared he easily should have taken a dramatic pay cut and maybe ya know not needed something stupid like 200 writers for the show.... thats just WILD numbers.
I never watched a single bitcoin block time of that show
UFC was always going to leave ESPN, glad its finally happening. A big reason they wanted to get away from the PPV model was to stop losing rev to illegal streaming sites. ESPN didn't want to pay plus nobody likes the prelims on 1 spot and PPV in another.
So we get to watch sport on Paramount
