I don't totally understand what you mean about forking, but let me know!
We have been doing it every day, since all we have to do is set it up in the morning and then leave it alone. We did a soft launch, so no promotion, but we'll work up to that. I have only seen one person stop to take a look, but I think we need much more signage for people to see it in advance and have time to pull over.

Is a term used in software development and other types of open source projects. I meant that I'll take your idea, modify it, and apply it to my locality, basically.

Got it, I know about forking in that sense. I thought you were maybe talking about something specific to Stacker.News. By all means modify the idea and see what happens. Where are you located?

Densely populated urban area in Brazil. My most likely presentation locations are private educational institutions that have arts in their portfolio.

Cool. Well our biggest challenge with this art stand is protecting the work from the elements – extreme heat or rain. The styrofoam coolers do a good job of mitigating the heat, but do not keep out the rain. So for now we are shutting it down every so often when rain is imminent...
