pull down to refresh

Cuban pitcher Luis Danys Morales earned his first Major League Baseball (MLB) win this Sunday, cementing his position as one of the Athletics' most promising young players.
At just 22 years and 327 days old, Morales became the youngest Cuban starting pitcher to win a game in the Major Leagues since José Fernández did so in 2014, when he was 21 years and 272 days old.
The comparison is no coincidence: since he was 14 or 15 years old, scouts projected him as having Major League potential, and now his speed, control, and maturity on the mound are beginning to confirm that prediction.
With an arsenal headlined by his powerful fastball and a poise not often found in rookies, Morales is writing the first pages of a career that promises many joys for Cuban baseball and its fans in the Majors.
That's awesome. Congrats to him. Hopefully many more.
