It's funny. Nostr was really obscure, but now Twitter is basically advertising it. "What is Nostr" is what every journalist will soon ask. This is how prominent Nostr devs get interviewed by major news outlets.
Moreover, the Twitter staff has done virtually no investigation of the things they are banning/advertising. Mastodon is one of several server implementations of the ActivityPub protocol, which makes up the Fediverse. Other implementations are Pleroma and Misskey. There are about 7k ActivityPub servers in the Fediverse.
Twitter could have tried to join the Fediverse or Nostr, but instead they're driving people to those alternatives instead. Musk has proven himself to be comedically short-sighted. It's almost slap-stick at this point.

UPDATE
And, it's gone.
Twitter Support deleted their Tweets about links to Mastodon, Nostr, etc. 🧵

This was such a bad move, to begin with, and it seems the decision was made without internal consultation, and in a very hasty manner, and it's now backfiring.
I suspect it had something to do with Jack's tweet in nostr.
