Cuban closer Aroldis Chapman, at 37, is having one of the best seasons of his career, leading all Major League relievers with a 1.15 ERA and limiting his opponents to a minuscule .130 batting average.
As if that weren't enough, the Holguín native has achieved something unprecedented in his career: nine consecutive outings without allowing a single hit, a streak he couldn't even achieve during his most dominant days with the Cincinnati Reds between 2011 and 2014, when he terrorized hitters with fastballs over 100 mph.
The Cuban thus proves that he can still reinvent himself and shine among the elite, defying age and those who thought he was finished. His 2025 season is serving as a reminder that the "Cuban Missile" still has gunpowder in his arm and a hunger for greatness.
Without a doubt, Aroldis Chapman is on the path to the Cooperstown Hall of Fame.
He has been amazing this season.
