Axie Infinity is one of the most popular play-to-earn cryptocurrency games. It sports an active NFT marketplace, meaning you can play for money. This article is a reflection of my experience as a newbie playing Axie Infinity for one week.

When I first heard about this game, I was intrigued by the idea of playing games to earn Crypto. I’ve lost lots of money on Crypto already, so why not splurge on this too.

There are several methods of making money, including:

1. Breeding Axies (though it costs money to breed!)
2. Earning Smooth Love Potion (SLP) by battling other players or by completing adventures
3. Selling Axies: if you decide you do not want to play anymore, you can sell the Axies you bought. Though, they may not be worth the same price they were when you bought them.

If you have several Axies, you can even hire people called scholars to play and earn SLP for you, which can be a great form of passive income.

In total, I spent about $800, to play the game and I earned $10.28 in one week.
