Indeed I think the vol fear comes from not paying attention and only focusing the media pushing stories of the peaks and troughs. They way people go on about the price movements its like its impossible to use, but I've been using it for years now.

I have not seen any asset that you would want that doesn't move in relation to fiat and you simply need to focus on your time range for holding it and not what it is on a day you never plan to use it
