This issue reminds me of "freedom of speech" debates.
I think a principal position could/should be the electrical provider is agnostic to how the power is used.
Analogy:
- I don't support what you are saying but I do support your right to say it. vs
- I don't support how you are using the power but I do support your "right" to use it.
First they came for the Bitcoin Miners and I said nothing, Next they came for the Hair Dryers and I said nothing. Then they came for my Refrigerator and there was no one to speak up for my cold beer.

Canada also declared a war on freedom and free expression. It has turned to the perfect example of a Davos-type transforming desaster like Germany or France.

Canada is a lost case. Full socialism/communism insanity.
Same goes with Australia and New Zealand.
