Thank you for that thoughtful response. I was a writer for my local rag in college. I got to interview a lot of cool artists, Korn, Three 6 Mafia, LMFAO, Slipknot, The Used and a ton of others. It didn't pay a lot, but maaaaan was a $50 - $175 check a huge blessing during that time.
I still work a day job, but since then I've done podcasts, hosted spaces, worked for projects on the side, and now I'm at an odd crossroads, with my day job, life, and media stuff, and that's cool too. So I get the idea of pursuing a bunch of things.
Losing it has kind of put it all in perspective. Right now, as a side gig for my media efforts, I am working on what I would consider one of the most important pieces of content I have ever created, and although the pay isn't huge, it is going to a very strong audience.
This opportunity feels like a second chance that has the potential to open a lot of doors. And that's fucking exciting.
Life kind of feels new. I see the world a little different now. When you lose it all, you appreciate all the little things you have to be thankful for, and you really see every opportunity you have around you.
A shift is happening, and I'm fucking here for it!
