pull down to refresh

if you have the time. ~ Steven Wright
Let me tell you stackers I have done some walking and it has been a very busy week. I found a house in a town called Barwon Heads. I knocked on the neighbours door and asked what the deal with the house was. They filled me in that it was foreign owned and had been vacant since they moved in. My best guess was that it has been empty since 2020. It is a 5 bedroom two story house! I told the neighbours I moving in and I’ll be back in a week. Here are some photos of the place with my stuff in it.
First I turned up with my Ute and parked that in the garage. It was good timing because my insurance and rego had just ran out. Then I had to get back to my van which was 115km away in Apollo bay. It was now about 8ish in the morning and I decided to leg it. I was going to meet my friend along the way but the universe had other plans and took me on a different adventure along the beach to Torquay. The town where I spent then first 20ish years of my life.
I also took a naked deep in the nudie beach in Torquay which was very refreshing. I collected 33 cans that were scattered along the roads before I got to the beach which scored me a grand total of $3.30. I have been quite serious about my can collecting.
After I cashed in all my cans and bottles I kept on walking and I started collecting bottles and cans again. I asked some lovely people if I could have their empties and we ended up swapping tales and they bought me dinner, dog food and water. The generosity of the people and the community that I have discovered has been a true blessing.
Later that night I tried sleeping in a public toilet which only lasted an hour and then a bench outside a closed down restaurant which I think last an hour and a half. I got tired of this and decided to keep walking at this point my legs were quite sore already as I had been walking barefoot. So I put on my indoor slippers. Russell and myself continued our journey and had another sleep under a tree on the beach for an hour and a half and then kept on walking. We reached Anglesea and it was about 8 in the morning so what seemed like a full days worth of walking with naps, can collecting, naked swimming, meeting people, enjoying nature. Seems well worth the sore legs. We visited friends parents told them I was squatting and they were supportive and gave me there extra cans and dropped me off at the can collecting station…
And that’s all for now because I’m sleepy and can’t be bothered but tune in next time for more of my bizarre adventures.
What will happen next? Will I make it back to the van? Am I still squatting? Will there be more walking? Who knows?

I didn’t hike all the way. I thought about it but my feet betrayed me!
