Guy is using an old Pixel 5 connected to some solar panels as a server.
I really like the concept, especially as I have a couple old devices kicking around. It would be a cool way to give them a new life (although the lack of updates for old devices makes me wonder).
Anyone else ever done something like this?

Using an old Pixel 5 as a server is such a fun way to recycle tech. I’ve never done this, but now I’m eyeing my old Samsung doing same.

Having a website that is fully offgrid using recycled parts is exciting!
This is the kind of punk I expect from Cyphers. As I heard at Bitpunk using old technologies in new approaches is punk.

If you're using it to run anything that's externally accessible, like a public web server, the lack of security updates could be a big risk. However, for a local-only home server, like for streaming media or home automation, it's probably just fine
