What I’ve been doing lately is just eating a ton of dense healthy food all in one sitting (or at least in a narrow window).
I do that in the early afternoon and it leaves me full for the rest of the day. Then, in the morning I just sip on coffee with coconut milk and honey, which gets me by until I eat again.
I was pretty surprised how well I adapted to this. When I do get hungry outside of that window, I usually snack on some fruit. It’s light enough to keep the fast off but substantial enough to take the edge off.
Here at home, we're trying to restructure what we eat, throwing away junk food, making bread at home, eliminating gluten, etc., and we've been seeing that fasting is also very good for the body. That's why my question: as Cubans, we tend to eat the same amount of food twice a day and have a "light" breakfast. Believe me, it's been a bit difficult to change, but come on, we're on the right path.
A while ago, I heard a phrase that really stuck with me and has helped motivate me to change:
"It's better to take care of your health than not to take care of your illness."
I don't know if it's translated correctly, but it's more or less like that.
