For some reason I feel that studio shots never seem to show the real person. The pictures feel empty, without character, without identity. Most look polished but lifeless. We are not perfect. For me studio shots should be about the surreal part of people, about fancy shots/crazy hairstyles/wild makeups/outstanding outfits. And yet more than 90% are not and feel more than flat. Outdoors or in real spaces, people come alive. You see their moods, their little details, their flicker, the way they blend with the world around them. Maybe these are the reasons why I always end up preferring natural shots over studio ones: for the alive feeling they give. I have to ask: Is it just me or I don't like studio shots?
