Even my good friends 'roll their eyes' when I mention Lightning... they just kinda chuckle + roll their eyes.
Have they ever used it? No. Do they they have the slightest idea as to what a 'Lightning wallet' is? No. How it works? No idea.
I tell them I believe we'll basically all have Lightning wallets in 10 years and they're like... 'OK maybe you're right' but they don't want to learn anything else they don't even ask questions.
I never under any circumstances mention Bitcoin to cab/Uber drivers because they will think:
  1. you will give them a whole Bitcoin (which is 'a lot' they think)
  2. I'm afraid of getting robbed even though I don't have a whole Bitcoin anyway much have access to one on an Uber??????
  3. They will think i'm a scammer/weird person
  4. They will think this is some part of some kind of weird crypto-pitch... and I 'want something' from them otherwise why would I give them something for free???
  5. Or they'll think I'm some weird tech startup/crazy person/scammer and either they'll rob me or I'll scam them.
This is basically the state of "Bitcoin" among normies today.
So I never mention Bitcoin in those circumstances. If they have a "lightning wallet" then that's different... they already know what it is but I haven't found ANY drivers that have the slightest clue what I'm talking about.
