I am guessing Shanhan is finally fed up of having the one of the worst special teams units in the league and something had to be done even though they won the game.

Hopefully Piniero can help with this:

They have already won the first match..still need improvements??

Yeah their kicker is horrible and almost cost them the game so they got a new one. That's what good teams do. Try to find ways to always get better.

49ers are a cool team. They just need to play like a team.

I think they just complicate it a lot by too may changes.

BTW our coinOS isn't working again.

Yes I see nothing sent or received in the last 15 mins.

49ers definitely are in a retooling phase. They got rid of a lot of their older, expensive players and brought in young and cheaper guys and then extended the contract of all their superstars. So clearly the plan is to lock up the core, pay them and build around them with younger cheaper guys who hopefully develop into the next core. The kicker situation has just been a mess for a couple years. It was time to move on, doesn't really have to do with anything regarding the other changes they have made. They had a guy that was supposed to be a stud and he never performed to his ability even with countless chances.

It's working again!

I want to consider them like the Delhi IPL team, on whom your description fits completely.
Did you see Delhi were cruising at one moment in the IPL and in the end they couldn't even qualify for the playoffs.

I hope 49ers do better than Delhi.

Uh oh, I see reports of Purdy maybe not playing this weekend?

Looks unlikely but we will see. You can’t really trust Shanahan with injuries.

reply

It’s all part of the game

-10 on special teams is almost incomprehensible, when you aren't giving up multiple return TDs.

Maybe he is washed. We will see. Has to be better than Moody. But there must be a reason he is available with stats like this:

New 49ers kicker Eddy Piñeiro has the 4th-highest FG make percentage in NFL history...

  1. Justin Tucker: 89.1%
  2. Harrison Butker: 88.8%
  3. Chis Boswell: 88.1%
  4. Eddy Piñeiro: 88.1%

Is Justin Tucker not available?

reply

Yes but they wouldn’t provide him the fake job at the massage parlour he was asking for.

reply

Nice. I didn’t realize he was available
