Cleveland is right back on top of the draft. They're leaning towards UNLV forward Anthony Bennet.
After seeing one of the possible versions of events, is that the right choice?
Who would you recommend they pair with Kyrie?

  1. Giannis
  2. McCollum
  3. Gobert
You guys are crazy for picking an always hurt, hardly played Oladipo while ignoring CJ, who averaged at least 20 points for every season, except his first season, he had been in the league. Oh, and CJ was on the court much more.

I suppose the question I asked was just top 3 players, but I was thinking about top three for the Cavs. CJ and Kyrie would be a lesser version of CJ and Dame.
You're probably right that CJ should be higher than Oladipo, but Rudy's a one-man top 10 defense and should be second then.

Maybe because I never really liked Rudy that much, so that's why I put him behind CJ. A lot of subjectivity involved in these picks anyways. But I see your point and understand why you would put Rudy at second.
reply
I've never thought much about what CJ's ceiling might have been.

Maybe we've already seen his ceiling, which isn't bad at all. Averaging 20 or more points 11 seasons in a row is not amazing, but it isn't bad at all. Who else amongst that draft class, besides Giannis, has an offensive stat like that?
reply
How do 8 All-Defense teams, with 4 DPOY's and 4 All NBA selections compare with that?
I realize you said "offensive" stat, but it's not like CJ gets subbed out on defense.
reply
A lot of good big men in this draft.
Giannis #1 obviously. Rudy #2 probably.
reply
I might go Oladipo over Gobert and hope for better health.
But, yeah, obviously you take Giannis here and keep him out of the Kevin Love trade that happens the following year.
How many titles would Giannis, Lebron, and Kyrie have won?
reply
Assuming good health that would be an all time great team
reply
At first, I was thinking Lebron and Giannis might get in each other's way, but Giannis probably just turns into a small-ball center sooner and Lebron develops his deep-ball a little earlier.
reply
Yeah sometimes you worry about fit and personalities, but LeBron seems like a good leader and his game is adaptable

Giannis (no brainer) Oladipo Gobert
reply
That's what I'd have too. Kyrie and Oladipo would be a great backcourt, even if Gobert is the more accomplished player.
reply
I am going with the Oladipo upside even though it doesn't work out for me.
