Do you mean you could sell after the market is closed?
Before the market closes, everyone can sell whatever share he/she has.

The closing of the market is probably not as atomic an operation as you assume it is.
When I saw the result on TV, I noticed that I could still sell my losing shares.
It looked like the sell order didn't go through, and it's still listed with status WAITING_SELL now. But the 462 sats were visible as withdrawable sats, and withdrawal worked.
At the same time, the UI shows my bet as complete loss, so at least it's inconsistent.
I wonder whether I could also sell a winning share at that exact moment, take the sell proceeds AND then get credit for the win. Smells like a race condition. Check your logs. You have logs of everything, right?
