Could it also be that maybe its not as simple as people make it seem. Colbert I don't think was canceled by the US government but was collateral damage of other things like the business deal. Forget what it even was now. At best if it was a targeting of Colbert it was just convenient. This isn't Abraham Lincoln shutting down journalists (most don't even know about).

I'm not saying Trump wouldn't or won't actually take this up 10 notches. He might. I'm not saying that plenty on the right aren't hypocrites. There are plenty. We know how stupid stuff can get when people are angry. Anger is not only dangerous but the emotion leads to foolish mistakes. I suspect we will see many more.

I say, let them talk. Let them show who they are. I've always said that. I wanna know who the Marxists and Nazis are. Their ideas suck. They will lose in the marketplace of ideas. Shutting them up is a mistake. But I don't think the majority of Democrats or Republicans actually like the extremes. I know plenty of moderates and liberals that are disgusted by what they have seen out of the woke left.

We need to avoid the generalization fallacy.
