It is truly such a slow and painful process. People are not interested in the truth until they're personally and emotionally affected. There's too many things in life distracting them.
I argue this is a good thing for Bitcoin. We need slow, constructive adoption from people who truly believe in the vision. Having too many people all in at once is counter-productive and may break the culture

I have slowly come to the same position as you, the process of OP'ing is a feature not a bug, it ensures your stack is as big as your understanding, and conviction. I think that as more value flows into bitcoin it becomes easier to be OP'd but even then they won't have the conviction the earlier generations had, and we always need that core
The masses will always be fickle, even in the so called bitcoiners today, you can quickly spot who the larpers are
