Adrián Morejón breaks historic record and is the Cuban reliever with the most wins in a single MLB season

Left-handed pitcher Adrián Morejón made history by becoming the Cuban reliever with the most wins in a single Major League season, surpassing a record that had stood since 1967.

At just 26 years old, Morejón, of the San Diego Padres, reached 13 wins, breaking the tie with his compatriot Minnie Rojas (12).

He is the reliever with the most wins in a single MLB season since 1986, when Mark Eichhorn and Roger McDowell each reached 14.
