All the more then given the sorry state of Canadian economy, but up to you.
Definitely acknowledged the fleeting Canadian government and economy but there’s a lot of family and friends. I just hope Alberta separates lol

That's quite radical to say, are you serious or is it a serious possibility?
My impression is British Columbia is very progressive and aligned with Ontario. So how is it even feasible getting separated while sandwiched between the Eastern and western provinces?
reply
I’m serious but it’s probably a low possibility. Economically tho the province has resources to be a local powerhouse.
Could make economic deals with USA or 51 state to gain access to ports if needed.
Saskatchewan could also hypothetically join and int interior of BC is similarly fed up with Ottawa.

It works ok for Alaska
reply
It does, but Alaska is not an independent country.
I know we are in the realm of wild hypotheses, but did you have in mind Alberta as a nation? Or some kind of statehood as part of the US?
reply
Alberta has the money from its oil industry
reply
Sure, so which political party or group is advocating for it (Alberta nationhood)? If they at least appear to be something like Texas or Florida (free market leaning, no regulation, trade barrier and preferably, Bitcoin as the currency, because sure they would want neither the loonies nor the greenback) then I am happy to donate some Sats to their cause!
reply
There’s a pretty large grassroots movement. Potentially a vote referendum will be held soon. Alberta and Quebec both have separatist movements in their provinces however only Alberta is economically feasible as a sovereign nation as Quebec receives considerable subsidies (paid by Alberta mainly)

I wish this conversation was more common in the US. It's the non-violent option that could save a lot of lives. In my opinion we are already in a civil wars. Just hasn't been admitted. People are still in denial.
