Yes I got a texas DL this summer, not a real ID
at the DMV, real ID didnt even come up
Are you sure it's not a real ID? Does it have a star in the right hand corner?
All Texas driver licenses and identification cards, both compliant (star) and non-compliant (no star) are valid until the expiration date shown on the card. If you replaced or renewed your card after October 10, 2016, and have a star in the right-hand corner, your card is REAL ID compliant and no further action is required on your part. You may continue to use your compliant card for federal identification purposes until it expires.1

I was about to say yeah no its def a REAL ID Texas has had REAL ID for a minute in fact I had an "old" one that the Federal Government didnt approve... it had the star but not the photo of you and so they had to redo it lol

oh cool. They got me. I was under the impression that the process was different for the real ID. Like I said, it wasn’t mentioned at all, so I take that to mean one does not have a choice anymore. But then what does being “compliant” mean?
