Due for a renewal next year, I think we can still get non Real-ID ones here but the cost is the same regardless... and I think both still require a trip to the DMV... so not sure what favor I'd be doing myself not to get one.

Flying with the passport has been fine, but thats one less thing I'd need to bring with me domestically, or redundancy in a lost bag/wallet situation.
