But for how long seems to be the interesting question

The biggest issue people are talking about now is how quickly the government could essentially be restarted lol. Cause if any changes are made by the Senate it’s likely that the House is going to struggle to pass it and if the Senate Dems continue to chose to keep operations idled well they would have to change their minds and bribing up votes ago take a few days if you are doing it according to procedure.
They could waive procedure it’s been done before but I want to say the Senate also is a 72 hour notice for votes like the House so that’s 3 days plus a weekend

Through the weekend seems inevitable but who blinks first after that?
Also, I’m very curious about the mass layoff wrinkle. You may recall that I thought that was the right move last time.

Yeah it would be a miracle if it was funded by Friday. Republican's esp. in the House have done whats required of them and what they are supposed to do. Its Senate Dems that are going to own this shutdown and history shows that.
We still have not gotten an email notification about the House coming back into session this week. I assume they are holding off for the meeting with the President in a couple of hours but House Members must be given 48 hours notice to return so that puts us past the deadline as well...
