I'm not a big Trump fan generally. But I do have to defend Trump here:
When Trump says stuff like
“I’ve been known as being a very smart guy for a long time.”
or
“I’ve had a beautiful, I’ve had a flawless campaign.”
or
“Nobody loves the Bible better than I do.”
or
“I’m the king of debt. I understand debt better than probably anybody.”
He's doing a hyperbole. It's a rhetoric instrument. Trump himself knows this. Many of his imbecile followers don't.
Listening to the first 3 minutes of his speech today to 500+ of our military leaders I came away thinking not much goes on in his brain except grievances, divide/conquer politics, and self aggrandizing.
I don't think he is intentionally turning these things on/off, I think that is just who he is.
