Add captchas, or some other method.
Asking for huge amounts of user personal info is not the way to go, they will get hacked eventually and all users info will be leaked, it's just a matter of time.

There is a  reason: they want less bots using the service.

Google is the worst of all. I avoid sign in with Google at all costs. There is no reason for ChatGPT to require personal info, specially Phone Number, to sign in.
