Happiness Journal 7/10/25

Today, the fifth graders sat for their composition exam. They might have expected me to discuss their storylines, but no, they should have realised by now that Sensei is different.

Anyway, I got those who had bothered to study my painstakingly curated notes to reflect whether they had found those notes useful for their preparation. One student wrote that she had used some phrases and idioms in an essay she practised writing last night. Her father was impressed with her writing.

Didn’t expect that my notes would strengthen a father-daughter connection. Honestly, that is all the validation I need on a weary Tuesday.
