There is this quite prominent Bitcoin expert (I suspect many will recognise if I name him) who is quite prominent in the community, appearing in YouTube, even advising investors and sovereign wealth funds, twitting regularly.
But I was surprised to chance upon his LinkedIn recently, which says he lives in China. Is not he running a risk here, given how strict China is about their capital control? Also, since he has been talking about Bitcoin for a really long time (well before I got my first sat), I suspect he has a sizeable stash? Does not it make him a target of the authorities in China which banned Bitcoin multiple times and can easily make people disappear?
THE CCP CAN'T SEE ME PEE! Lol I wonder how intense the scrutiny really is over there. Sure seems like the do an awful lot of citizen monitoring. Altho the big old US of A can see me through anything that has a camera in it. Device off? MI6 has it's ways to see anyway.

There are many bitcoiners in China. Usually they let foreigners do their thing. If they break a serious law or criticize the CCP it could be risky but I highly doubt they would have it confiscated.
I also doubt many bitcoiners are running a node over there. The firewall is pretty intense.

The last sentence (never thought about it as such) gets me worried. It is possible for an ISP to block Bitcoin nodes?

I was running one around 2018-2020. I just thought that it might be risky since its a grey area so I shut it down.
