I think value for value seems like tipping because the UI's still make it seem that way, until the UI's and services connected with it make it as simple as visiting a page and clicking to unlock, unlocking as you scroll or you get something for the time and length you consumer, paying for interaction like a comment then it will always be seen as tipping
The payment will become secondary to the user action, and with v4v its not about getting large numbers but getting a user base who feel that you're content is worth engaging with, in v4v you won't chase mass numbers because those masses wont pay you

I think human beings should also be VALUED (rewarded) everyday for just being alive. Just my thoughts.
