pull down to refresh

Exactly 3 years ago, we released a song and a music video... but apparently, a year ago, I wrote a poem. Haven't published it anywhere (I think) although I distinctly remember recording myself reading it. Perhaps I didn't think the result was good enough. Anyway, putting it out here now for your reading pleasure. Perhaps the audio version will also, some day, * one day * , be released...
"DAY ONE"
One day, You may witness the world Slowly, but surely falling apart In front of your very eyes. You may wake up And finally admit to yourself That you’re not where you want to be. You may look in the mirror And be confused - “This is not me!” You may look deep into your soul And not know What this is all for. You may look at your habits And not understand the purpose. You may look into your fridge And find it lacking nutrients and nurture. Sinister shadows lurking behind What you thought were virtues. You may see behind the facade If you only dare to look - it’s not that hard. Just squint your eyes a bit Let go of what you thought was “it” You’re there, you’re ready, you’re done This is not “one day” This is “day one”
