The US government owes that debt, not the private citizens.
Break out of the habit of conflating governments with the societies they extract from.

The national debt / unfunded liabilities are not directly related to the private wealth of individuals and corporations. Estimates are that private wealth in US is approx $180T.

Umm easy the debt is owned for the most part internally and even more so the US has the ability to cripple trade across the world in whatever trade lanes someone would care to use with ease. No one else can do the wild stuff the US military can do.
