Yeah. I can't imagine paying for a sporting event or concert in installments. That's wild but I think it has become the norm. I believe k00b previously posted something about 2/3 of coachella attendees financing their tickets.
The thing is, if the debt wasn't so available, the ticket prices would likely be cheaper and more affordable for everyone. This highlights the interaction between easy credit and inelastically supplied goods, which is why loosening mortgage credit is never a good solution to housing unaffordability, and why more generous health insurance is not a solution to high healthcare costs. Right. The Blue Jays can't just say "damn there is a lot of demand, lets just issue another 50k tickets". They could increase the capacity of the stadium, but not by Friday.
