This paper analyzes the properties of “hard money” through a topological and hydrological lens. The discourse around monetary goods constructs a manifold where Inherent Utility forms one submanifold, and Monetary Sovereignty forms another. The tension between these structures reveals a fundamental hole: the space of Absolute Stock.
A good’s propensity to be consumed directly attacks its topological integrity as money. When examined through riparian and dam-building metaphors, the Stock-to-Flow ratio becomes the measure of hydraulic containment — the capacity of a monetary reservoir to withstand the erosive forces of consumption.
