Hello everyone 🤗

I’m Rose, a young Cuban entrepreneur. I recently joined Stacker News and I think it’s amazing. It’s not Google, but it has everything you’re looking for, hahaha. The organization by topics and the freedom to learn, write, and share have captivated me, as well as its close relationship with Bitcoin, which motivates me even more.

I discovered Bitcoin about 5 years ago. Since then, I started studying how it worked and what the future projections could be. I can’t deny that during those years, many other crypto projects and shitcoins caught my attention because they simply seemed to offer a chance to make some quick money and survive, just like every Cuban tries to do in this Island. But... I always ended up realizing and confirming to myself that Bitcoin was the way. There were setbacks and some disappointments... but today I can proudly say that I am Maxi and that taking the orange pill 🍊 has been one of the best decisions of my life.

If you at least know a little bit about the reality that Cubans live, I can tell you that Bitcoin has definitely been a salvation for many. And yes...people say that the most valuable thing for human beings is freedom, and BTC has helped many Cubans to achieve it or almost achieve it.

Cuba is a beautiful Island, with so much to explore, with hardworking people but without hope or a future, no matter how much they work, study, or strive 😓 Because we are simply stuck in time, with sadness on faces, garbage in the streets, hunger, unsanitary conditions, diseases, and long blackouts that keep an entire country in darkness for almost 20 hours a day or more... day after day... for years; a decaying and disastrous health and education system, the capital and its buildings falling apart, and families destroyed or separated because many risked their lives and took the sea by rafts or went to other lands in search of opportunities and a better future. Some succeeded, and others unfortunately died in the attempt. The reasons...? A failed system and a Communist ideology imposed for over 6 decades that has oppressed an entire people. A people that tries to survive amidst so many difficulties, prohibitions, and decay; desperate for a change that has nothing to do with Communism, which has already caused enough harm and suffering. You have to live it to understand it... the list would be endless...

But well... we still hold on to our dreams ✊🏻 and that keeps us alive and eager to move forward. For instance, I doubt that Adele will ever visit Cuba, but someday I hope to attend one of her concerts... despite not even knowing 1/4 of my own country or having visited at least another city outside of it. And not because I don’t want to...

That’s why, I maintain my desire for self-improvement, to reach my goals, explore new opportunities and feel motivated and purposeful.

And of course, I enjoy the adventure with the help of Bitcoin (the closest I feel to freedom), my love for technology, and the support of my family, which is my greatest treasure.

Soy Rose, una joven emprendedora cubana. Recientemente me uní a Stacker News y me ha parecido increíble. No es Google, pero tiene todo lo que buscas hahaha. La organización por temas y la libertad de aprender, escribir y compartir me ha cautivado; así como su estrecha relación con Bitcoin, lo que me motiva aún más.

Conocí Bitcoin hace unos 5 años. Desde ese entonces comencé a estudiar como funcionaba y cuáles podrían ser las proyecciones futuras. No puedo negar que por esos años también me llamaron la atención otros proyectos criptos y shitcoins por el simple hecho de tener alguna posibilidad de hacer algo de dinero rápido e ir sobreviviendo como cada cubano intenta en esta Isla. Pero...siempre terminaba dándome cuenta y comfirmándome a mí misma que Bitcoin era el camino. Hubo tropiezos, alguna que otra decepción... pero hoy puedo decir con orgullo que soy Maxi y que haber tomado la píldora naranja 🍊 ha sido de las mejores decisiones en mi vida.

Si conoces al menos un poquito de la realidad que viven los cubanos, te cuento que definitivamente Bitcoin ha sido la salvación para muchos. Y sí... dicen que lo más valioso para el ser humano es la libertad, y BTC ha ayudado a muchos cubanos a alcanzarla o casi alcanzarla.

Cuba es una Isla hermosa, con mucho por explorar, de gente sacrificada pero sin esperanza ni futuro por más que trabaje, estudie o se esfuerce 😓 Porque simplemente estamos detenidos en el tiempo, por la tristeza en los rostros, la suciedad en las calles, el hambre, la insalubridad, las enfermedades, y la falta de electricidad que tiene todo un país a oscuras por casi 20 horas..día por día...durante años; un decadente y desastroso sistema de salud y educación, la capital y sus edificios cayéndose a pedazos, y familias destruidas o separadas porque muchos arriesgaron sus vidas y se lanzaron al mar o a otras tierras en busca de oportunidades y un futuro mejor. De los cuales, algunos lo consiguieron y otros desafortunadamente murieron en el intento. Las razones...? Un sistema fallido y una ideología comunista impuesta por más de 6 décadas que tiene a todo un pueblo oprimido, tratando de sobrevivir ante tantas dificultades, prohibiciones y decadencia, desesperado por un cambio que no tenga nada que ver con el Comunismo, que ya bastante daño y sufrimiento ha causado. Hay que vivirlo para entenderlo...la lista sería interminable...

Pero bueno... aún conservamos nuestros sueños ✊🏻 y eso nos mantiene vivos y con ganas de seguir adelante. Yo, por ejemplo, dudo que Adele en algún momento visite Cuba, pero espero algún día ir a uno de sus conciertos...a pesar de ni siquiera conocer 1/4 de mi propio país, ni haber visitado al menos otra ciudad fuera de él. Y no porque no quiera...

Por eso, mantengo mis ansias de superación, de alcanzar mis metas y explorar nuevas oportunidades para sentirme motivada y con propósitos.

Y por supuesto, disfruto de la aventura con ayuda de Bitcoin (lo más cerca que me siento de la libertad), mi amor por la tecnología y el apoyo de mi familia que es mi mayor tesoro.
