I bought a telescope back in 2020 because of the Comet NEOWISE craze. After that, I continued to play around with the telescope, mainly observing the moon and the gas giant planets (Jupiter and Saturn). Eventually, I wanted to take some photos of what I was seeing so I bought a cell phone mount from Amazon and mounted my phone onto the telescope's eyepiece to take photos. Had some pretty cool results with the moon. I came across these photos I took of the moon when I was looking for photos for this week's hiking post, and thought I'll share them. I took some photos of Jupiter and Saturn as well, but I couldn't find those. So, I'll just share these photos I took of the moon.
Taken using a Sky-Watcher Skymax 102 telescope, forgot what eyepiece, and an iPhone 8.
This was just part of the moon. The round was from the observable image, not the curve of the moon itself. I was not able to fit the whole moon into view in the telescope because the telescope zooms in too much.

Super cool. Do your kids like the telescope? I had one as a kid. Was thinking about getting one for my daughter.

Yes they do, especially my daughter. We still go star gazing with the telescope occasionally in summer nights.

It's also surprisingly bright at night, especially in dark places.
