pull down to refresh

In honor of the Raiders miserable outing against the Chiefs, we looked into the worst offensive performances in NFL history.
The 1999 expansion Browns hold multiple impressive records:
  1. Least time of possession at 12:11
  2. Fewest plays run at 28
So, which happens first?
Less than 12:11 with the ball0.0%
Fewer than 28 plays100.0%

28 plays is abysmal

You should get the ball at least six times in a game. Fewer than five plays per drive is wild.
The Raiders only had three first downs last week and still managed 30 plays and 17 minutes.

is 3 first downs a record for futility?
they had more punts than first downs?
reply
That might have been a tie for worst

Remember when the Raiders beat the Patriots on the road in week one?

Looked like a completely different offense. Maybe getting Bowers back will be enough to get back to that.

Bowers has been hurt? that's a big loss
who is the backup QB?
reply
Kenny Picket, but I hope it won't come to that.
Chiefs have a good defense but it's not shutout good

I agreed with the logic you guys discussed on the pod. Now I forget which choice it was for
reply
I think we went with fewest plays. There have been a bunch more games close to that number than there have been close to the time of possession number.
reply
12 minutes means the other team possesses the ball for 48 minutes
Anything under 20 minutes is not ideal
reply
A three-and-out that's all incomplete passes only takes about 20 seconds.

3 and out that's all running plays takes 3 minutes?
