pull down to refresh

My middle school friend took No-Pay Leave recently owing to health issues from his mum. Since he is relatively freer on weekdays, he arranged to meet me for afternoon tea at a food court at 4pm today.
So, I woke up half an hour earlier so that I could finish the pressing matters on my plate and dash out of school to reclaim a semblance of my social life.
It was only when we met up that he revealed that he had not eaten lunch at all. I mean, that was his choice and I won’t feel indebted to him, but it’s kinda cool to know that our meetup was so important to him that he adjusted his routine to accommodate my schedule.
Adulting is hard. His mother is undergoing chemotherapy. I don’t have major stressors going on in my life now since my house has been renovated. Anyway, for those few blissful hours, we chatted about anything and everything under the sun, me basking in the company of someone who has seen me grow up. Worth my sleep sacrifice!

I recently took a trip back to my home country. I hadn't seen my wife and daughter for six months (it felt like two years), and it was so rewarding to be reunited. I was also finally able to spend time with my wife's sisters and her mother. It was an effort that was totally worth it.

I didn’t know your trip to Ecuador was so momentous! Hope you won’t be apart from your wife and princess any time soon.
My wife is Japanese, so I stay with my parents-in-law for one month in Japan every year. Agreed totally worth it. And food is cheap n good in the land of the rising sun hahaha

🙇 Thank you for your kind wishes. It was certainly a very important trip, undertaken to reunite after several months apart. (Those have been the longest days of my life) Now we are together again, and I am enjoying my mother-in-law's delicious cooking.

that's cool :)
I had a family gathering recently that was in honor of our patriarch - our grandpa. And all these people who knew my family when we were young came to see us. They still love us so much and it's because my grandpa had first loved them.
