Was just talking about this concern last week as I've held off on confirming an El Salvador appearance because of it. This is just a start, could get much uglier, cascading delays only take a few airports.
A minute after seeing this I saw people are posting threats to security guards ahead of the missed SNAP payments...
Storm upon us?
I figure if they stop the flights, this thing gets wrapped up in 24 hours.
hell knoweth no fury like the stranded traveler.
reply
That's why many people had Thanksgiving as the upper bound of the shutdown.
reply
it's more about Black Friday than Thanksgiving travel
I'm sure many people have used the shutdown as an excuse to cancel Thanksgiving travel
reply
It's still a very busy travel day and can become utter chaos across the country if air traffic controllers choose then to call out sick.
reply
Remember the shutdown in Dec 2019?
35 day shutdown from Dec 22 to Jan 25
I guess most people complete their Christmas travel before Dec 22
Edit: I hope every flight is grounded like Sep 11, I am cheering for utter chaos
reply
Takes a few weeks for people to miss paychecks and then start calling out of work after the shutdown goes into effect, so I don't think that instance effected Christmas travel.
Conveniently enough though, just a couple few weeks after that, we started getting the coof videos out of China of people dropping dead on the sidewalk, and were locked down about a month later.
Monetary velocity came to a stop, money printer went brrr... trillions in debt refinanced and papered over at 0% interest along with a practice decoupling from China... all in an election year where a black swan was necessary to get Trump out of office so a vegetable could illustrate how fake and staged everything is.
The timing of this now just so happens to give people plenty of time to plan on not traveling, that combined with the spigot down to a trickle re: SNAP and other stuff would also strangle monetary velocity...
Riots in the streets over SNAP etc would keep people home exacerbating the strangle on velocity even further.... Maybe a kick of the hornets nest for good measure and arrest someone this week... NYC Mayor psyop in play? He just today won a DOJ referral...
Fed just announced QT ends 12/1...
Combine all this with much decoupling from China rhetoric, Trump meeting Xi at this very moment... and in the last few hours Trump announced nuke testing, giving SK nuclear submarines, and mentioned Taiwan at the photo shoot.
Also getting hot and heavy going into mid-terms re: unrigging the elections/gerrymandering... dominion voting just changed hands in a hostile takeover by a Trump loyalist...
Slow and painful to watch the appetizers come out and I've had a bellyfull of popcorn already... but the table is clearly being set for whatever the intel agencies are cooking up. I smell another big print and 0% rates again.

I'm normally more skeptical of your master plan theories, but I do feel like this administration came in with more of a plan than normal.
I don't think everything's as scripted as you seem to. It seems more likely that they prepared for lots of contingencies and have been more intentional about how they respond to speed bumps.

Intelligence agencies and think tanks planning things years/decades in advance isn't a theory, it's established fact, all that's left to speculation is what the factions are, the overall direction, and how much power is consolidated (if power is not consolidated its more chaotic since the enemy gets a vote)
They didn't rug Hillary's acceptance speech in 2016 without a lot of assets, but if it seems more organized now than term 1 I'd argue that's because power has been more consolidated... not a single democrat voting to end the shutdown isn't out of self-interest, seems to me like they're the controlled opposition (blackmailed, charges pending) that Republican's used to be.
I'm rooting for chaos next week and the resultant emergency measures that really get the fun started 🍿
Shame I'll probably miss El Salvador though
reply
I'm comfortable predicting that missed SNAP payments will result in a verifiable shitstorm.
reply
Can't wait 🌶️
reply
I actually think missed snap payments will be a nothing burger among voters.
The mainstream media will try to create a shitstorm... look at all these illegal immigrants losing access to snap
reply
One in eight Americans are SNAP recipients
I wasn't talking about voting, though
reply
I wasn't talking about voting
Makes you wonder if the national guard being deployed to select cities wasn't really about ICE 🍿
reply
These are 2 different issues:
  1. national guard deployment
  2. ICE or immigration enforcement
reply
NG was deployed under the pretense of protecting ICE personnel facilities
They're different legal battles but one operation
reply
Deploying NG to protect federal employees is valid and legal
