I read the title assuming it was a parents thread about human children and I was like "damn he put it in Animal World, what a savage dad"

How long does it take them to settle in to that configuration?

They immediately take this position when they get in the car, even if I put the little one in the back seat to begin with. I don't know why. It's not as if they seem that attached to each other in any other setting.

But when they were little, did you teach them to sit in the back or the front?

The smaller black one always hated cars. She was never comfortable. We would have to hold her as a puppy. Now she's fine so long as she's touching the younger white dog. Our young white dog always sits in that seat. She is a rescue, and I don't think she ever spent much time in cars before we got her. She seems to like it.

I understand you perfectly, they adapt to us and our lifestyle. Wow, rescuing an animal is a great act of love, keep it up, life will repay you many times over.

That's awesome. My dog prefers the back seat.
