They own a third of the franchise! Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures jointly own it and have formed The Pokémon Company. Game Freak does the video game development and then they are run only on Nintendo devices with Creatures handling the physical cards.
I could see Nintendo ramping up parks that feature other things like Super Mario characters creating Disney like resorts!

Really wish they would cut ties with GameFreak though. They are chronically mishandling the Pokemon games and slowly eroding the brand and confidence in the franchise.

Absolutely. Pokemon games have lagged so far behind the industry, it's really quite sad. They have amazing material to work with yet they keep putting out subpar games

I don't think Nintendo fully owns Pokemon though. Not sure how much pokemon revenue goes to Nintendo directly.

I was at Target yesterday and there was a line to buy pokemon cards, and a security guard too
