Daniel Batten does great work correcting errant journalists about the realities of Bitcoin mining, and now he has released a report that looks at whether Bitcoin mining data centers should consider converting to high performance computing

Apparently, "it had an 18month embargo on it, but is now available to everyone. Some things are out of date, but hopefully still useful." I do wonder a little how relevant it is for today.
