Appendix: Pollution in the Delta
Corporate Sharks, Dolphins, and Carps The delta’s ecosystem is disrupted by pollution, represented by three actors:
Corporate Sharks: Predatory entities thriving in both salt and fresh water, exploiting the mixing zone for profit. They introduce toxic narratives (e.g., misinformation, manipulation) that destabilize the delta’s balance.
Dolphins: Adaptive and intelligent, dolphins navigate both salt and fresh water. They represent truth-seekers and mediators, maintaining harmony by filtering pollution and guiding flow.
Carps: Content in fresh water only, carps symbolize localized, community-focused actors. They avoid the turbulence of the mixing zone, preserving purity but limiting their influence to familiar territories.
Implications: A healthy delta requires dolphins to outmaneuver sharks and carps to anchor local truths, ensuring that pollution (misinformation, corporate control) doesn’t overwhelm the ecosystem.
