The DDT Iron Man championship is the most ridiculous one ever (one that started when the Japan-based DDT promotion was making fun of WWE's Hardcore Championship). It's a belt that can be defended 24/7, and which can be won by anyone or anything. We've had ladders and towels as champions, as well as top-tier wrestlers, and while there have been fantastic hardcore matches for the belt, there have also been many, many silly moments.
Today, a Shohoei Ohtani picture book won the belt when Rika Tatsumi (who was champ) fell asleep with the book on top of her:
She then managed to win it back almost immediately:
(I love me the athletic and brutal sides of pro wrestling, but I do love some silliness.)
Shohei dominates another sport.

Never before had I considered the potential of Japanese culture meeting professional wrestling.

Japan's pro wrestling scene has been huge and influential on the rest of the world for decades, so there are actually a lot of chances to see the combo.

I'm sure that's true, but I've never been a wrestling or Japanese connoisseur.
