I used to hang out on the Mr Money Mustache forum, a while back. Interesting place, but it got really woke. I was kicked off the forum for gently suggesting that people do some research before vaccinating their kids with the Covid jab.

Anyway, there was a lot of discussion on this very topic there - what to do after you don't need to work anymore. Many people became financially independent without bitcoin, just by investing in index funds. And financial independence did not bring happiness, necessarily.

People really do need a purpose. Not that a job necessarily brings you purpose, but not needing a job doesn't necessarily make everything sunshine and roses.
